Vyas to lead Beauregard Center
New director brings experience from three R1 public flagship universities Yashwant Prakash Vyas has been named director of the Aulbani J. Beauregard Center for Equity, Justice, and Freedom at the University of New Hampshire. Vyas is a proud second-generation educator and is a higher education, nonprofit and organization development practitioner who centers access, equity and inclusion in his work. He has a portfolio of working at three R1 public flagship universities in the United States. |

Vyas receives Phi Beta Delta Honor Society for International Scholars staff award
Yashwant Prakash Vyas, assistant director of Diversity Resources in the University of Iowa Division of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, was awarded the 2020 Edward S. Blankenship Outstanding Staff Award from Phi Beta Delta Honor Society for International Scholars. Vyas received the award at the 34th Annual International Conference of the society, held virtually May 14-15. |

"Recently a student in The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Texas A&M University was chosen a model to pose for the War Hymn Monument Statue. Yashwant Prakash Vyas, a junior in the department with a math minor, is from India. He transferred from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad, India in 2012 and was a contest winner chosen as one of the 'people' to be featured in the War Hymn Monument statue to be installed on the student side of Kyle Field as part of the remodeling and expansion of the stadium. The statue is meant to depict a diverse group of 12 Aggies 'sawing varsity’s horns off' at a football game. Photos of the contest winners 'sawing varsity’s horns off' will be used by the statue artist to ensure authentic representation of the 12th Man." |

US Funds for UNICEF 2014 Member of the Year Award
"A student in the Dept. of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Texas A&M University was recently awarded the UNICEF Member of the Year Award. Yashwant Prakash Vyas, a senior in the department, was the first student from Texas A&M to receive the award, which was presented at the UNICEF Campus Initiative Summit 2014-2015 in collaboration with the Millennium Campus Conference.This is a national award given every year at the annual summit to a member for his/her contribution to US Funds for UNICEF. Only one award is given in this category. Previously Vyas received the UNICEF Service Honor Stole, which is given to a member for their outstanding service to UNICEF." |
